Starting the week strong with some new work!!! This painting series started as a conversation I had with my good friend and close collaborator AEPH about his love for the original NES game Metroid. He hinted at the prospect of wanting to recreate one of the main theme songs from the original game and being a Metroid fan myself I suggested we do a fun collaboration where I would do a few paintings of Samus to pair to AEPH’s redux track. As most of you know I pull most of my muse from my childhood. So many amazing memories getting lost in the screen from hours of playing games. One of the main things I wanted to capture with these paintings is the sense of mood and tone that the game gave me as a child. The isolation and loneliness factor and going up against the unknown… this first painting in the series set that tone. Four more to go!
