METROID - 004/005

Painting 004 in the series of 5. The hero pose :). One thing I found out while researching the background behind Metroid was how influential the film Alien was on the franchise. Since alien is my favorite horror/sci-fi film I felt right at home with the inspiration. I knew that I wanted to sculpt and paint as much Giger into Samus’s suit as possible giving it that alien like exoskeleton I felt it needed to have. You can see a little bit of it in this painting here if you look closely. It’s amazing the cultural impact great cinema can have.
