008 – SAVAGE REMINDER

As we docked, I stood alone in my quarters, staring out at the mist. Cold and beautiful. Eerily still.
They thought we'd be safe here, but I knew different. I'd felt it.
When our first brigade eventually breached the city gates, their discovery verified my fears.
This place was no longer natural. This place was now haunted.

This painting took us about four different tries to get it right and we both feel it might be missing something still. With each piece, Francois and I learn so much about our own taste, skill and ability. This one really tested us. At the end of the day we felt is best to keep the series momentum and mark this one as done for now. I think the one thing that feels right for me is the impending mood of doom.
